Hi. I was curious to know if anyone had a smart thermostat that you could control with your iPhone. I don't know if these work with voiceover turned on or not, but I as considering it because it might be a better option for sighted people to also use. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Also, are there other options available in talking microwave ovens than the Magic Chef model? That one didn't receive very good reviews on amazon so if there are any others available I hope you can give me a heads-up.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Blind Mice Mart will have the ovens. You can also get information on the heat controllers.

I have a Talking Thermostat from talkingthermostats.com. Actually, I bought it via blindmicemart.com but it came from the other website. Anyway, they've got a nice video that shows how it works. It's attractive and can be used by both blind and sighted folks.
I bought it for myself as a Christmas present and am so glad I did. For the first time in 7 years, I've been able to switch it from heat to cool and have a clue of the indoor temp and it's settings. I love love love it and I've actually seen a slight decrease in my energy usage.
Hope that helps.

I use

Setting up the schedule is not accessible but other then that everything works fine including temporarily changing the temperature, switching between heat and cool, etc. If you are technically inclined the thermostat offers a JSON API so you can set the schedule using post requests with CURL, that's what I did.
